Stealing Steve Sipple's life in the red blog entry:
Anybody else surprised Nebraska nose tackle Ndamukong Suh wasn't named first-team All-Big 12?
I'd venture to say this was shoddy voting.
Suh, who has played exceptionally well down the stretch, was a second-team selection in voting by the league's 12 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.
Nebraska right guard Matt Slauson also was a second-team selection.
The Huskers' honorable-mention picks were Larry Asante, Roy Helu Jr., Alex Henery, Jacob Hickman, Zach Potter, Ty Steinkuhler, and Nate Swift.
Here's the entire batch of selections.

Gator Bowl officials haven’t stood behind a podium and said it yet, but reports out of South Carolina have it that Clemson will be Nebraska’s foe in the Jan. 1 bowl.

Nebraska is probably looking to sign around 22 players for this 2009 recruiting class.
It appears right now that 18 scholarships will open up due to graduating seniors,
which would have been 19 but Barry Turner will get a medical hardship and return.
I think it might also be possible that Andy Christensen could get another year, but I
think it might be best if NU and Andy went their separate ways. There is almost always
a transfer or two in the offseason, as well as a non-qualifier or two that will free up
another scholarship or two. There is also a strong possibility that NU could convince a
couple of in-state recruits to take a greyshirt offer to open up space in the class for a
highly rated player...
NU Football Notes: Prince, KSU still sore over 2007 thrashing - Omaha World-Herald
MANHATTAN, Kan. — Just when you thought that the impact of Bill Callahan was diminishing, Kansas
State went and stirred the pot on Monday.
Coach Ron Prince and the Wildcats remain unhappy with the nature of Nebraska's 73-31 victory last
year over K-State in Lincoln. The game marked Callahan's final win at Nebraska before he was fired
two weeks later.

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini knows his Cornhuskers could get clobbered if they don’t
clean up their act this week at BCS No. 4 Oklahoma.
“We’re going to be going down there to play a heck of a football team, probably as good a football
team as there is in the country,” Pelini said. “We need to play better than we have to be up to the
challenge.”

NEBRASKA - Nebraska snapped a three-game slide with a convincing 35-7 win over Iowa State. The
Cornhuskers led 21-0 at halftime and, with the exception of one long touchdown run, slammed the
door shut on the Cyclones. Nebraska had a 548-218 edge in total offense, and a 15-minute advantage
in time of possession. Joe Ganz completed 27-of-37 passes for 328 yards and a touchdown, while
primary target Nate Swift finished with eight catches for 112 yards and a TD. On the ground, Nebraska
racked up 220 yards and four TDs. Marlon Lucky (15 carries, 74 yards) accounted for two of those
scores. On the season, the Huskers rank 18th nationally in total offense (439 ypg) and 12th in passing
(291 ypg). They'll take on Baylor this weekend.

The ability to rate topics on the forums has been available for two and a half years now, though it hasn't been used for anything until very recently. Now that we have made a change to start using the rating system to promote threads on the front page I thought it would be a good time to look back at the topics that were highly rated in the first go-round.
