Presumably like the football players in the weight room, Memorial Stadium is getting bigger in the offseason.

Work to expand the East Stadium is on schedule, Nebraska associate athletic director John Ingram said Thursday. The mild winter has helped.

The $63.5 million project won't be finished until 2013, but the rush is on to have enough work completed so the stadium lights can be installed, and fans can pass safely through the construction zone to reach their existing seats come fall.

Once finished, the stadium's capacity will top 90,000.
