"The Road" was freaking stark. Good, entertaining...but stark. Holy crap, I'd rather go right away than live like that.

For the record, I thought Blood Meridian sucked.
"Unconditional fucking surrender. It ain't over in Falluja until a bunch a Marines are standing on top of a pile of rubble looking down at any survivors, telling them, 'You shut the fuck up and do what I say. If you behave, maybe in a hundred years we'll give you a casino'".-Sgt Antonio Espera-Generation Kill

For anyone who hasn't read this book, here is a 100% accurate summary:

Boy: I'm scared
Man: Me too
Boy: I'm scared
Man: I know
(repeat ad infinitum)
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am master of my fate and captain of my soul.

I'm reading "No Country For Old Men" right now. I worry that the movie version of "The Road" will suck, but I REALLY enjoyed the movie version of "No Country For Old Men."

"The Road" is depressing as hell, but it's a great effing book.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I thought the movie "No country for old men" was a boring piece of shit. It seems I do not share the majority of Redout posters taste in books and movies.

I agree that parts of that movie were a little slow, but overall I thought it was very entertaining.
