By The Numbers

So all of the sudden Nebraska has become the home to couple Division II powerhouses. Interesting to say the least. UNO is ranked higher than the Huskers by Massey, and Chadron St's home grown running back has shattered the NCAA rushing record this season. Both of these teams are currently undefeated, and ranked in the top 5 in Division II. UNK meanwhile has lost to both, but otherwise the only blemish on their record is a 1 point loss. Respectable.

It's interesting to see these teams doing so well today, while we watch our beloved Huskers falter on the field. Are they benefiting from the dismantling of our walk on program?

Let's look at a few interesting numbers after the break...

Someone needs to clip this article and send it to Bill Callahan. Maybe he can use these tips at his next job, since it will no doubt be a little tougher to recruit 5 star athletes at a Division II school.

Forums Update - Sarcastic much?

The Huskers' disappointing season has brought out the sarcasm in our forum posters in full force. Akin to last week's Thank you, Steve Pederson! thread is the new Thanks, Bill! thread.

Louisville Husker isn't glad it's Sunday morning..... Coop sure seems excited in Callahan gets a Triple Triple!. Tenacious D sends a shout out in Hai guyz! And Boxcar Willie looks at the bright side with Sure NU is terrible, but...

Forums Update - Have you heard?

Rumors were flying fast and furiously on Wednesday. Rimington is being brought in to be groomed under Osborne as the next AD. Callahan's going to be fired before the end of the season. Watson and Busch will be promoted to coordinator positions. And the big whopper - Charlie McBride is going to serve as interim head coach. And all of this was just in one thread.

By the end of the day the rumors proved to be nothing more than that - just rumors. That didn't stop people from talking, though Coop did offer some advice when dealing with all of this.

Wait! Did you hear that there is a 6PM press conference? No? Well, there wasn't.

Well... That's a rather prophetic headline for a game that is yet to be played. Granted, Nebraska has looked very bad in their last two games, but aTm is no powerhouse this year.
